Art Rainer is the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and an MBA from the University of Kentucky. He writes widely about issues related to finance, wealth, and generosity, and is the author of The Money Challenge: 30 Days of Discovering God’s Design for You and Your Money, and The Marriage Challenge: A Finance Guide for Married Couples. Art lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina with his wife, Sarah, and their three children.
The issue of money is seen with uncertainty and apathy by many christians, possibly because there have been teachings that have taken us away from what the Scriptures teach us about money and we have unconsciously adopted some paradigms that are not true.
Dr. Rainer's book, titled "Fin More Money" is not the typical “24-hour-easy-find-money” book, it is a book that invites us to think wisely about managing money than Lord provides us. The author provides us nine steps that cover three major issues: Give-Save-Live. The book takes us through a story, which helps us identify ourselves, while offering us very interesting ideas, strategies and thoughts about money and life.
This book does not promise that you will have more money, but it does lead us to improve our attitude towards wealth and possessions. With great interest we must approach this work that encourages us to reason about what to do with our money and why it is so important not only for our needs but also for the kingdom of God.
At the end of each of the nine steps, the reader will find a call to action, because this book is not only to gain theoretical knowledge but to take action. It is an invitation to use our money in the best way.
Personally, I have found step seven challenging, which is related to organization. A matter that we overlook because of the day-to-day concerns, but that it is necessary to consider it for a better administration of what the Lord gives us. This book is not only for people with financial problems, but for all those who want to make better use of their money and lead a more satisfying life.
