Christopher J.H. Wrightis one of the authors who has made good contributions on the study of the Old Testament, his book "Knowing Jesus Through the Old Testament" has been a milestone in the OT study. But well, here we find a brief book with a challenging title, whose purpose is to show us the Old Testament in seven sentences.

The truth is that Wright accomplishes his objective, and in this book we find an exceptional development of Old Testament history, beginning from the Law and ending in the Psalms. You might ask: Why does it end with the psalms? Because the author takes the order of the books according to the Hebrew canon.

What makes this book different from others books about the Old Testament? That presents all the drama of the Old Testament in a condensed, accessible and enjoyable way. I think that if someone wants to know the Hebrew Scriptures this book will be very useful. It is worth mentioning that in our time the Old Testament has been relegated to oblivion, it is seen as something that has nothing to do with us. But as the author says, this story is also our story.

So let's start our study of the Old Testament and know the writings that Jesus knew and read.

About the author:

Wright is now the international director of the Langham Partnership International (known in the United States as John Stott Ministries), providing literature, scholarships and preaching training for pastors in Majority World churches and seminaries.
