Getting to Know the Church Fathers: An Evangelical Introduction [Review]

Church Fathers? Who are they? What we know about them? Actually the evangelical world does not know about the church fathers. They see them as something strange, unnecessary or boringly historic.

In this book, Brian M. Litfin answers that questions, and not only that, but reveals to the main church fathers as, Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus of Lyons, and others.

This work is not about the writings of the church fathers, but about their lives and their perspective on the gospel and the church. The church fathers, have much to contribute to the present church. Written in a clear manner, it is a work for pastors, Bible students, and all those interested in the church fathers.

Who is the author? Bryan M. Litfin (PhD, University of Virginia) is professor of theology at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He is the author of the Chiveis Trilogy and several other books. Bryan and his wife, Carolyn, have two children.

Thanks to the publisher for the review copy.
